A Holly Christmas 13, 14, 15, 16 from Virtual Quilter

One of my favourite project files for Christmas season, or any season with different shaped leaves, and different colour flowers instead of the berries … or perhaps including the berries.

Love the changing background colours.

I have just seen Christmas trees made out of holly leaves sometime in my future, like the bunches around the outside of the design above … something to play with between now and next Christmas!

If I didn’t have a summer weight Christmas themed quilt on our bed I would make this one to go there!

A Holly Christmas 3, 4, 5 from Virtual Quilter

This is, I think, my favourite new project file for this year, and I am loving the way the blocks are working together to create interesting quilts.

Between now and next Christmas I hope to find more quilting designs to add to the designs, so one think I want for Christmas is time … and lots of it, though I shouldn’t be too greedy … to sit at the computer to play with quilt designs, from drawing blocks to designing small and large quilts.

I might even be able to sneak in a little bit of real quilting between the virtual ...

A Holly Christmas 1, 2 from Virtual Quilter

New blocks, new project file … especially for Christmas!

Holly is something which has not been introduced to many plantings of any sort in Australia, so most of us rely on artificial varieties as part of our Christmas decorations.

It must be Christmas already.

I feel like a kid with a new toy … really a virtual quilter with a new set of blocks to play with, and expand into a bigger collection than it already is!

It is unlikely I will need to make another Christmas quilt in the near future, but if, or when, I do I will have lots ...
